How did 55 MUBWA members spend April Fool’s Day? They attended the Spring Assembly at Wailuku Hongwanji Mission. As part of the Assembly program, Sgt. Kaena Brown and Officer Kalani Miles of the Maui Police Department’s Community Relations Division addressed the group. They provided an informational session on cyber crimes, telephone scams and safety. The various temples’ BWA units, as well as WHM Dharma School, donated stuffed animals and toys, blankets and pillows to the Community Relations for children they deal with who may need it.
BWA members accompanied Reverend Murakami to Hale Makua (Wailuku) for MUBWA visitation and Hanamatsuri service on April 6th. Sylvia Ishikawa and Toshiko Sugiki visited temple members residing at Hale Makua (Kahului).
BWA members assisted with the Yard Sale held on April 15th. Members helped with sorting and pricing the donated items prior to the Yard Sale and also helped at the Yard Sale.
The next Hosha day is scheduled for Thursday, May 4, at 8:00 a.m. All temple members are welcomed to join our dedicated BWA members in helping with Hosha. Happy Birthday to our members born in May: Grace Hamasaki, Sandy Hirata, Reverend Murakami and Mary Tokumar
