MEMBERS OF WAILUKU HONGWANJI Buddhist Temple will observe their 120th Anniversary on Sunday, October 20, beginning with a service at 9 a.m. During the service, three members, who are over the age of 100, and 162 keirokai members will be recognized. Throughout the years, Wailuku Hongwanji Buddhist Temple has maintained a vibrant sangha and strong affiliate ties. Temple and affiliate members alike provide manpower and support in many areas, such as clean up and fundraising efforts. WHM has grown into a community temple which continues to enrich the lives of all who participate in its programs.
Expression of appreciation will be relayed to attendees for their support in completing the restroom and photo voltaic projects. In addition, Hawaiian Miles will be awarded to members who are present.
After the service, brunch will be served. A donation of $5 for each participating family (two or more individuals) and $3 for each single participating member will be collected. The donation will help the committee get an accurate meal count. Please call the office at 244-0406 if you plan to attend. The deadline for reservations is Monday, October 14.
