From the Wailuku Hongwanji Board of Director’s Meeting Minutes: Rev. Murakami reported that Gakuen has resumed with only 39 students instead of the usual 83 students. Teacher’s and monitors’ hours have been cut due to budget shortfall. Eric Ikeuchi requests that the Board also consider waiving usage fees for the months of Octo-ber, November, and December. Plan is to increase enrollment to 50 students by January, 2021 depending how the pandemic plays out. Paul Hiranaga along with Pamela Miyagawa will also work with the Gakuen on their future budget. Motion made by Gary Murai that the Board waive the assessment and usage fee for the Preschool and Gakuen for the rest of 2020 due to decreased revenue during pandemic. Seconded by Eric Ikeuchi.
